In November, it was announced that giant panda cub Bei Bei would make his public debut in 2016.
The panda house at the Smithsonian National Zoo has been closed since August to maintain a quiet environment for mom and cub. First public observations of Bei Bei are scheduled for January 16. However, members of Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ) will have the opportunity to see Bei Bei starting January 8.
It has been stated by zookeepers that Bei Bei is becoming more independent while he continues to grow and achieve developmental milestones.
Can’t wait to see Bei Bei? You’re in luck. The National Zoo has a panda cam. You can also follow them on Instagram for more photos, videos, and updates. Panda cam is sponsored by the Ford Motor Company Fund.
