Tuesday, December 1 was #GivingTuesday, a day to celebrate random acts of kindness, community involvement, volunteer work, and charitable giving in support of important causes.
For many, Giving Tuesday meant supporting their local zoos, aquariums, wildlife rehabilitation centers, animal rescue facilities, and adoption shelters.
Zoo New England received an impressive $17,500 in donations on Tuesday, all of which will go directly toward the medical costs associated with caring for their animals.
The Brevard Zoo also sent its thanks for the 94 charitable gifts it received on Tuesday.
#GivingTuesday was wildly successful in generating charitable donations used for animal care, research, rescue, and conservation initiatives to zoos, aquariums, and animal care facilities far and wide. It’s clear that people love animals, care about them, and want to work together to protect them.
Not all gifts on Giving Tuesday must be monetary in nature. Share posts, engage in conservation conversations, participate in beach cleanups. There is a lot you can do to support the organizations that are changing the world every day.
