“Ice” Skating Returns To Audubon Zoo

Audubon Zoo

New Orleans: Snofari Adventure celebration at the Audubon Zoo will be in full swing from December 26 – 31. This year, holiday “ice” skating will return to the list of festive activities for guests.

A skating rink of synthetic ice made from high-tech plastic will be open all six days from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in front of the Capital One Stage beneath the majestic oaks at Audubon Zoo. The rink itself measures 30’x40′ and can accommodate up to 35 people.  The “ice” is made from an eco-friendly, recyclable acrylic material that enables a skate blade to glide as smoothly as if it were on real ice.

Snofari Adventure holiday activities are included with your zoo admission.  However, skating is separately ticketed. Tickets will be available at both the front gate as well as at the Endangered Species Carousel booth. Skating tickets are $7 for guests and $5 for members. Because of the high-tech nature of synthetic ice, skaters may not bring their own skates. However, skates in all sizes will be available at no additional fee.  Skaters will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.

To add to the festivite atmosphere, a DJ will be present, spinning holiday tunes.  In addition, a sleigh will be available for photos.

An all-new attraction has been added to the lineup this year which is SnowGlobe Live!, a 15-foot-tall replica of the popular holiday collectible.  Adorned with holiday decor, the globe’s interior will accommodate up to six people for photos.

Enjoy the winter season at Audubon Zoo and everything they have to offer!
