New Orleans: Zelda & Kohl, a pair of African blackfooted penguins had a big weekend at their home, The Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. Yesterday, this pair celebrated their 22nd Valentine’s Day together in style.
Zelda & Kohl are known as Audubon’s Sweethearts. The aquarium’s senior aviculturist Tom Dyer explained, “While most species of penguins mate for life, there is still a divorce rate. We’ve seen our share of penguin heartbreak, infidelity and sometimes joyful reunion here in our colony. Kohl and Zelda, however, are spending their 22nd Valentine’s Day together.”
To celebrate this special occasion, the aquarium went all out for these two lovebirds on Valentine’s Day.
